Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How much experience do I need to go on a trip?
- None! Our instructors can teach you all the skills you will need to participate in any Adventures Without Limits trip.
What kind of gear do I need to bring?
- We send a clothing and equipment list to participants prior to all trips. If you don't have the recommended clothing/gear, we can provide it for you. This includes foul weather gear, such as rain jackets, wool hats, snow pants, etc.
How do I register for a trip?
- To register for an activity call 503-359-2568. Upon registering you will receive a confirmation letter, medical form, trip agenda, and an equipment list in the mail. Your enrollment is confirmed once we receive your payment.
What is Adventures Without Limits' cancellation policy?
- Cancellations with at least 3 days notice will receive a full refund. If you cancel within 3 days of the trip date we will refund 50% of the total trip cost, and cancellations the day of the trip receive no refund. Please understand that our refund policy is based on our investment in staff and course planning. Short notice cancellation prevents us from filling our programs to capacity. A full refund or credit toward another trip is issued if Adventures Without Limits cancels the trip in which you have enrolled.
What if I can't afford to pay for a trip?
- Scholarships are available. Please contact the office at 503-359-2568 to apply.
Who will be on the trip with me?
- You can expect to have a variety of individuals with all ability levels, that love the outdoors and having fun, on our trips.
What happens if it is raining on the day of the trip?
- Most likely the trip will still run. If the weather creates a safety hazard you will be notified by an Adventures Without Limits staff member that the trip has been cancelled.
What are the qualifications of the trip leaders?
- At least one leader on every trip has Wilderness First Responder certification (or higher) and all leaders are required to hold current CPR and First Aid certification. Both staff and volunteers are required to have a clean driving record, a criminal history background check, driver training which incudes defensive driving instructions, and outdoor recreation skills. Primary trip leaders have extensive personal and professional experience in outdoor recreation, so you can be assured of a safe and rewarding adventure.
