Gifting assets to charitable organizations may be easier than you think. Stock and bond certificates, mutual funds, and assets held at brokerage firms are all eligible to "transfer" as a donation. This is a tremendous help to our organization, and it may be a way for you to save on your taxes (you should consult a tax professional for details).
Normally, assets that have appreciated in value are the most beneficial to gift. The process is fairly easy. Once we receive a gift, we send out a receipt indicating the fair market value for you to use in your tax preparation.

If you have a stock or bond certificate tucked away in a file, a drawer or your safety deposit box, you can take it to the Edward Jones Investment Office in Forest Grove. We have an account that has been established for that purpose. Just let David Recek know you want it to go into the AWL account.
Edward Jones Investments is located at:
1925 Pacific Ave.
Forest Grove, OR 97116

If you want to make a gift from your mutual fund or brokerage account, you may also contact David Recek at Edward Jones Investments and he will provide you with the forms and information you will need to complete your transfer.
We appreciate your interest in our organization. If we can do anything to help you with the gifting of stocks, bonds, mutual funds, or any other asset, please feel free to give us a call. We have the resources available to answer your questions. (503) 359-2568
