Adventures Without Limits and the Community Based Activity Program have a long history of providing recreational and educational programs for people of all ages and ability levels, and we have a staff with extensive experience and knowledge in the fields of special education, outdoor adventure and therapeutic recreation. For example, the summer Community Based Activity Program staff includes: special education teachers, physical therapists, occupational therapists, school nurses, adapted physical education teachers, recreation therapists and student mentors. Our year round employees are also highly qualified:
Brad Bafaro, Founder
Brad grew up in the Pacific Northwest and has always enjoyed recreating in the outdoors with family and friends. He is a special education teacher with an M.S. in Education with an emphasis in Physical Education for Special Needs. He has worked in adapted physical education in the Forest Grove School District for over 22 years. Brad worked with the Forest Grove School District to develop and implement an inclusive education model for students with disabilities and has been a special physical education consultant for the US Department of Education. He worked with local parents to start the Community Based Activity Program and has been its volunteer executive director since 1990. Brad was the Oregon Teacher of the Year in 1990 and the Special Education Teacher of the Year in 1992. |

John Goff, Executive Director
John holds a BA in Comparative Literature and has been working for Adventures Without Limits since June 2002. He has over 11 years experience in the outdoor industry and has worked with people with disabilities in educational and recreational settings for over 9 years. As Executive Director for Adventures Without Limits, John demonstrates his compassion and commitment to people of all abilities, and enjoys having a very active role within the community. John enjoys playing the guitar, photography, and rock climbing whenever he has the opportunity.

Kris Williams, Adventure Program Director
Kris has been our Program Director since May 2004. He has worked with children and adults as an educator, counselor, and outdoor leader for over 12 years. Before coming to Adventures Without Limits, Kris was employed as a middle/high school teacher, and as a guide for a wilderness therapy program. Kris has a Bachelors degree in Cultural Anthropology and a Masters in Teaching. He has over 500 days experience leading trips in the outdoors, and is certified as a Wilderness First Responder, Lifeguard and Swiftwater Rescuer. In his free time Kris enjoys reading, travel, gardening, and anything that involves the outdoors. |

Amanda Wriggins, Companion Program Director
Joining the organization in 2008, Amanda holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She has over 10 years of experience in both the Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities field. As the Program Director for the Companion Program, she is dedicated to promoting independence and self-empowerment in the community for individuals with disabilities. Outside of work, Amanda enjoys playing tennis, going out for a run or just kicking back at the beach. She is also passionate about animals as well as the Boston Red Sox.

Gary Alexander, Crew Leader
A Portland native, Gary began working in landscape maintenance while in the US Army. He then worked for 5 years at a Portland landscape company maintaining state highways, etc. He and his family moved to Forest Grove in 1995 and, soon after, started his own landscape maintenance company perfecting his knowledge in landscaping. With 35 years experience, Gary is now happy to be a part of Oregon Green Thumb Landscape Maintenance, supervising the crew and sharing his expertise.

Janet Bafaro, Registration Coordinator
Janet received her BA Degree in Recreation from Pacific University. For 10 years she was the Director of a very successful preschool gymnastics program. Janet really enjoys her job as Registration Coordinator with Adventures Without Limits. The job enables her to meet many nice people and still gives her the time necessary to raise two very active teenagers. |

Patricia Garner, Gear Manager
Patricia joins the AWL team as an educator, nursery woman, and active member of the community and the Arts. A lover of music, Patricia sings with the Wapato Valley Worship Team in Gaston where she is a mother of four and step mom to four more. She is very passionate for her children and exclaims, "I love my kids!" As a self-proclaimed 'outdoor lady', she enjoys spending time in the woods, going for hikes, biking, and gardening. Patricia is honored to be a part of this agency and hopes to outfit many of you on our upcoming trips. |

Eric Smithers, Assistant Gear Manager
Eric holds a diploma from Forest Grove High School and has worked with Adventures Without Limits since 1998. When he is not working hard as the Assistant Gear Manager, you will find him hiking, participating in water sports and beach combing with friends. Eric has a knack for bringing smiles to the faces of those around him. |
